Good thread, thanks for posting this, as I always want to compare what I noticed to make sure mine is behaving! I also wanted to confirm some of the original list, and my experiences for other new guys as well:
-Cold idle "miss". I also have 2 LS1 cars that do the same thing, they all smooth out when warmed up.
-6 speed 2SS also rattle, when you push the clutch in at low speed in 1st gear. Both of my T56 4th gen cars also did this, and it is because of the springs in the clutch as said previously.
-Black water/soot from the exhaust on a cold start is something I've also noticed on my 2SS, again the 4th gens did the same. Condensation + a bit of soot.
-The 2SS also has the "numb" throttle, with the 6 speed, I like it. (since someone asked) It makes it much easier to get going from a stop and roll into the throttle. At least our electric throttle isn't just an on an off switch like my SRT8 felt.
-Oil pressure, 30psi hot idle (40psi cold idle), 40psi cruise, haven't gone WOT in it yet. I understand the LT1 has a variable displacement pump. Pressure doesn't run near as high as my LS1 cars when cold.
-Coolant, my gauge also goes to 180* around 30 seconds after run time.
-Ticking, I notice a tick at idle, which I imagine as said is partly due to DI, and possibly the thinner Tri-Y looking manifolds. That said I don't notice any lifter tap like the previous generation GM motors. The LT1 is MUCH quieter.
-NPP (dual mode exhaust) rattle. None on mine yet with 330 miles. I've seen several posts about this being dry NPP actuators that will be lubricated or replaced if taken to a dealer. I keep the exhaust set to track mode, it sounds amazing and fairly loud on cold starts, then gets much quieter after about 30-45 seconds.
-Brake pedal feel, my 2SS has the 4 piston Bremos, which look similar to the Brembos on my SRT8. The initial brake pedal travel doesn't seem to provide much bite, but further travel ramps up bite, and bleeds speed very quickly. My SRT8 was much more touchy. I prefer the SS pedal feel for better control.
