Depending on the color you want to paint it, if you decide to paint it, you could always use a spray on vinyl called Autodip. It's like PlastiDip but better quality and you can get it in a gloss black finish. Its more expensive than plasti dip but a lot less expensive than actual paint. If you get chips, you can always respray it and it still wouldn't be as expensive as repainting the splitter. This is the route I would try first if I decide to paint it. Could be a fun DIY project too
