That engine had a throttle cable. Older engines respond better to CAI.
The new engines with drive by wire throttle are so dialed in and computer managed that a CAI without a full tune will do absolutely nothing for you. The sensors will counter adjust the air and fuel intake to compensate for the larger volume of air and you'll be running like you would with the stock intake and filter.
