I think that comment was from a sport bike rider that wants the ability to pass the Harley rider in his lane when he wants to ride faster, particularly on a road like the Dragon. If I ever felt like I was holding another bike or car back, I'll back off, acknowledge them, and waive them by. If I haven't done so and you encroach on my space, you'd better hope your bigger than me, or I can't catch you.

I get the space of a car unless I'm paired with a rider and it is mutual and trusted. It takes thousands of miles together to share a lane.
