At first I wasn't that impressed either. But then I realized I was just trying to justify in my head why my 5th gen was just as good. I was so wrong

1. The car is not in a "new segment" it's a Camaro and it's in the same segment it always was.
2. The segment is competing for the same sales dollars from the consumer. Performance metrics are only one part of the equation.
3. All the pony cars in the segment have "moved up" as you say in one area or another. It's still the same segment.
4. If the new GT500 smokes the ZL1 for roughly the same dollars are you going to say it's "moved up into a new segment?"
GM is doing something wrong here. It's not hard to see. Has nothing to do with whether we like the Gen 5 or not.
