the stereo shop helping me set something up said they saw some mention on their installer forums they read of electrical feedback (clicking/static pops it sounds like)...they were trying to see if anyone figured out where the interference was coming from

From what I have read and the posts on here about upgrading there is a connector plugged into the factory amp that feeds exhaust sound into the speaker system. Not sure how true that is but the person unplugged it and the electrical feedback went away. Don't see why GM would do that when they have a sound tube running from the intake tube through the firewall and into the cabin of the Camaro. Hope this helps!!
