The only other thing I have seen cause real slow start like that is on older cars with a bad AC compressor that is seizing up and the starter can't spin the belts.

I had a starter go bad in a 2002 corvette but it would not fire at all or work fine. Once replaced all good. I think heat killed it and some suggested wrapping it with a heat shield.

I had a pulley seize before.

Disconnect the belt and try starting it, see if it still hard starts.
