Seriously, it's possible a GT has run 12.4 but no Mustang owner has documented it on your forum and the holder of the fastest position (12.5) took more than a year after the GT was release. You
now claim to have run 12.4 stock but it contradicts an earlier post where you specifically said 12.4 with "tune only". Hard to see that as a typo for "stock" ....and you never submitted it!
The SS broke 11s within weeks of them hitting the street and an average driver like myself can run good times in not so good air or track prep. (
Mine was the morning after a street outlaw, zero prep day).
Bottom line is that someone in a stock GT needs to document it. The owner of the fastest all stock gen5 ZL1 (11.5) made that his mission and he's still stock. More challenging to do that then mod.
I don't think anyone in the Camaro community has an opinion about a 12.4 stock Mustang. 12.5 is quoted because that's the record and if there were to be a 12.4 it would still be an outlier, like the 11.5 ZL1.
And yes, if a poor SS driver sleeps at the light and you have a 0 reaction time you'll get the win but his ET will be better. I've done it myself against a modded, C6 auto.
