I would have greatly enjoyed the V8 - but for what I was trying to do, the V8 would likely have resulted in (more) tickets, more insurance, more money spent at the pump, and a more costly car note. For my purposes, THIS v6 is plenty fast, and accomplishes everything I wanted. It may not do that for you. You should at least drive it and decide. It's a wonderful engine, and with the right exhaust is sounds amazing. It's not the same sound as a V8, but most of the people who have ridden in mine, even without NPP, really like the way the car goes and sounds.

It's different for us all - for me I did not settle. If I'd gotten a Subaru WRX, I'd have been settling, but not with this V6. I wanted a smooth engine that sounds good, delivers power in a linear fashion, and goes fast. The handling on this alpha platform, even on the base car is amazingly good.
