The no low end torque comments are two fold. First as was already mentioned the Camaro is putting the power to the ground so effectively that it's not overwhelming the traction and therefore seems like less torque. Secondly a 900 mile car is not broken in yet. Everything is still new and tight and wearing in. In short the engine hasn't reached it's full potential yet.
Also what performance mode was he in? Could have been experiencing torque management.
