Our rear sections/axle backs install BEHIND THE FACTORY AFM VALVES. So, you do not need to purchase additional AFM valves with The Borla Rear Sections.

As a result, I recommend you start with one of our rear sections and then decide if you want to add a mid-pipe/X-pipe after that because AFM valves are only an issue with the mid-pipes/X-pipes that are added to our rear section to make a complete Cat-back.

For starters, do you have a manual or automatic transmission? I ask because there is no AFM with a manual transmission on these cars. At least the 2016 models.

AFM stands for "Active Fuel Management" which basically shuts off 4 of the 8 cylinders at cruise. This dramatically changes the sound, meaning an active exhaust system (with valves) is necessary.

Some enthusiasts disable AFM altogether (which is what I would do) and those Camaro owners do not require AFM valves. Others have a manual transmission and those do not need AFM valves either. Others are willing to tolerate the sound issues caused by AFM.

But, for those of you who have an automatic, want to retain AFM and don't want to deal with the sound issues, it's critical to have AFM valves.

With all of this said, our rear sections/axle backs install BEHIND THE FACTORY AFM VALVES. So, you do not need to ourchase additional AFM valves with The Borla Rear Sections.

Thank you. I have an automatic. i will start with the rear section first then go from there. So If I order a kit without the AFM, is there a plug or something so the car does not throw a CEL?
