I'm just gonna go off logic on this one, cant answer for everyone.
While I don't have NPP exhaust,
IF I did get it, and I didn't like the tone or sound, then logically if an aftermarket company made something that sounded better or more to your liking, then one would have a reason to upgrade.
the functionality is the main attraction of the NPP exhaust, being able to open the valves and or close them (i.e. have it loud or mild) when you command.
some may be ok with a stock sound, loud and mild... but some may want a more aggressive sound.
