In addition to the quality checks all new model year builds undergo, a portion (say one in five) are randomly selected for closer inspections. This may add a few days to the wait for that selected build, unless a problem is uncovered. A discovered problem may then affect the wait for both preceding and ensuing builds as well as the randomly selected one. This is normal and also why vehicle manufacturers normally hold the first two or three weeks of production, which did not happen for this new model year.
