I have the 3 gig per month plan through AT&T. I always end up rolling a couple gigs over each month so the data thing is no issue for me. Just a couple of points on the data, if you have AT&T, Onstar has some kind of deal with them so that you can have your Camaro added as another line to your account. That costs about $10 a month. That way anybody in your car can help you use your data. I don't see the point in this unless your car has better reception than your phone does. Another thing is you can do one time Gig purchases. $5 will buy you 250 megabytes for a day, which is a lot in one day. I have 810 miles, mostly city, on my car and have only used about 190 m of data.
I will most likely just use the data on my phone when my 3 months of free onstar data expires.
