I know... I know....

There is no shortage of information online regarding the efficacy and necessity of a high flow drop in air filter.

With that said, I am put off by the CAI manufacturers issues with a whistle sound and the honest confusion about power gains, if any.

What are the arguments, either for or against, purchasing a high flow air filter for <$50 and enjoying the sound and greater air flow when compared to spending >$300 for CAI systems.
