from having the nA8 vs the 5th gens A6, a couple of things I can say...

in traffic, driving hard, and spirited on open roads, with an external cooler on my 5th gen LgX, I was getting to temps of 200-210 degrees. before the external cooler, I was seeing as high as 227 degrees.

now in the 6th gen, the highest I have seen is 192. given on any modern automotive transmission, the operating temp range is 175-195, i'm within range for not shortening fluid life.

theres also a heavy duty cooling package. more than likely it will be available for add on parts if you didn't get it stock, but if you order the package (with the RS package) its only 485$ and you get the bigger brakes as well....a steal in my view.

depending on mode, the shift patterns do change. most to and from work, or weekend stuff I leave it in touring mode. I've been getting 35mpg+ with the lgx v6. in sport mode, things are more "track like"... and with A/C off, and you kick it a nickel, the tires let you know verbally.

no need to rev at a stop. unless you're trying to show off or be what the internet world would call an attention whore, just "sit still look pretty"

now racing from a stop, that's another story. powerbrake it and go!
