If you're talking about daily driving a car "with that much power" it comes down to driver. If you can't control yourself and your car, you should not own a car like that. After all im pretty sure most of us are not Street Outlaws needing to put down all of the power on dirty streets.
As for the track is has to do with much more than tire width. People put down amazing times with a 275 drag radial, there is a whole class based on that tire. That said it has to do with tread, compound, suspension, track, width, sidewall, temp, psi, etc...
