Lots of guys ran SC and turbos on the 5th gen V6 with its high compression ratio. They ran awesome (at least...the ones that actually had a decent tune...long story there) and not until guys were pushing those things well over 500+ HP did they need to lower the CR.
So no surprise here for me at least.
