And after every panel/section reshape the clay bar so you aren't dragging the stuff you pulled off the previous panel/section onto the next one. For larger panels like the hood break it up into four sections of equal size. I usually will break the hood and roof to four sections each and the doors and bumpers into two sections. Front fenders and rear 3/4 panels can be done as one section, while the pillars are also one section each.
