If you prefer a manual, pocket the money and get a manual. It looks like people are not having issues getting the 6 speed to run just as quickly as the auto. If you can go either way, the auto is a lot of fun as well and gets great mileage at cruising speed. Though it's difficult to keep your foot off the pedal.
If I were in your position, I would probably look at getting a nice used one in a year or two. Then you won't have to worry about the depreciation hit and you'll be able to hit that $500/month monthly payment easily.
