"Sir, your car is in Lansing, Michigan. It has been there for several weeks with no movement."
Which is the exact opposite I got from my dealer. I promptly called the dealership and asked where in the world my car was. And once again, I was told it was in transit and should be here any day. BUT they didn't know exactly where it was. Just that it was somewhere between Michigan and Texas. I let them finish their spill. Then I told them I had called GM and the car was in Michigan and had never left. He was silent. Then said he'd find out where it was. 15 minutes later I get a call and I'm told something along the line of "they (delivery manager) just told me the same thing they told you at GM. "There is a rail car shortage and that's why your car didn't get on when we thought it would."
I got a spill about it not being their fault but that it would still fall on the dealer inevitably. "This has never happened before and all we can do is apologize."
No. You can do more. You can put me in a loaner Camaro until my car comes in. You can pay the first loan payment due in a week and a half. You can compensate me for trading in my car at the beginning of the month and not being able to drive anywhere. I know what I'll probably get. Nothing.
Guess what also came in to my inbox this morning? The GM Satisfaction Survey.
They said they'd call me tomorrow after they speak to the managers and make some calls. "You car is priority 1 out of 99... so it's top priority."
You know what that means to me? That my car is still sitting in Lansing, Michigan not moving. I don't buy the rail car shortage. Because then other 2/29 TPW cars wouldn't have made it to Texas.
What irks me is that I'm the one who took the initiative to find out where the car was. My car. Because they assumed my car had shipped.
Not sure what I can do at this point.

That is just terrible customer service and a big fail on either GMs, the Shipping Company and/or your dealership. I hope they do SOMETHING for you...at the very least give you a loaner for the rest of the time you have to wait.
Mine just made it to Spokane and I take delivery Tomorrow evening. I really hope your's arrives with the quickness.
