True on the old rumor part. But the new one seems to have some teeth. As the current rumor goes, the new mid-engine C7 (some odd test mules have been spotted) will be a completely separate high end model (a different vehicle) that will be offered alongside the current C7. It's designed to compete with the soon to be released Ford GT. The C7 is already known to have a short production life, so the speculation is the C8 will be completely mid engine. This leaves the Camaro to be the sole remaining hi-perf RWD car (also rumors of an AWD CTS-V coming) to carry the mantle. Seeing how GM is rushing out the performance Camaros so soon, one wonders if the TT V8 will eventually make it's way to the Camaro to compete with the upcoming GT500 or perhaps they will save it for the 7th gen Camaro?
