Mmm...I dunno about that. Maybe the base models all felt similar. But as you elevate to performance models in each vehicle line, the Challenger really starts to feel like a tub compared to say, the Boss LS, or SS/1LE.
That may be where more of those comments are coming from on that front.

Interstingly, a teen learned to drive in my 1LE. (full disclosure, I'm a teacher by profession) I find that younger drivers (who aren't PITAs), are more adaptable to different situations, and responsive to instruction. The visibility of the Camaro was different for him, but certainly not a barrier to good driving. In fact, it taught him the importance of knowing where your corners are, good straight parking, and not creeping too far forward at traffic lights.
I think that's the reason so many people like to complain about the visibility...they're adults and just used to pickups, or camrys with 3x the glass...and too stubborn, or unwilling to accept the trade-off for the styling of the vehicle. "Can't teach an old dog new tricks" sort of thing? My .02, anyways....
