???

Don't forget, the 16's top mechanism is more complex that the 5th gens with the added mechanism needed to move the hard tonneau cover open and closed.

Plus, just how many people would really WANT to put the top down when it's that cold?? Heater blower on high and heated seats only go so far.

I had the top down on my 2011 2SS/RS convertible when the temps started dropping as the sun went down, and as the temps hit 43, my hands were turning white.

A limit of 4o degrees is just fine with me.

I think the lowest temp when I had the top down on my ZL1 was 51.
Any risk of frozen water (aka ICE) would be a good reason to restrict usage of the convertible top...the indexing windows don't like ice, either...but not much you can do there.

Imagine a small motor trying to life the top panel and can't because it's frozen over....of the hinges and gears trying to spin while frosted over. Or the fabric of the top being pushed and moved around while there's ice frozen to the fibers...

ALacorte515 - I'd - like others have suggested - put a cover on it if you're expecting some snowy/sleety weather...and just brush it off when it gets heavy. It should be just fine...the car underwent winter-weather testing to make sure of it.
