Budget Painting V6 Engine Cover

Dont have the cash to drop on a professionally painted engine cover but still want it to look like those awesome covers do (mostly)?

Not a professional painter yourself? This thread is for you.

Supplies you'll need:

1. Masking / painters tape.
2. Some paper
3. High temp spray paint of the colors of your chooosing
4. Patience.

Spray the entire thing the color that will be the most visible once completed. For me this was black. The first picture is what it looked like once completed. I had to let it cure fully before moving on to my next color. This time will be dependent on the particular paint you used.

Please note, normal rustoleum paint is not supposed to be exposed to temps of 200 degrees - so it may not be advisable to use as the engine cover paint.

The remaining pictures show the masking off for the silver paint and the final product. Remove the masking tape and such after about an hour of your last spraying.
