Here's a solid question to throw in the mix. The Corvette is the pinnacle of American Muscle for Chevy. I'm sure by now some of you have seen the corvette get stomped by the hellcat challenger and charger. Multiple videos, different cars and different drivers. The ZL1/Z28 won't be lighter than the vette, it won't have more horsepower, so i think it's safe to assume that whatever variant of the Camaro is next, it won't hold a candle to the Hellcat in straightline speed. I know Chevy is focused on the track, but why can't they make the total package? I know creating downforce sacrifices the straights, but there has to be an answer. If Dodge could squeeze 707+ hp out of a car and meet all the emissions requirements, why cant Chevy respond? They can't keep arguing that they are making a driver's car that MOST drivers won't ever use in that fashion. It's safe to say that 90% of the ZL1 owners never took their car to a roadcourse, either for lack of location or interest. WE want the FASTEST car that handles well. lol.
