You know, I've often wondered in this day of rev matching, hill assist, and solenoid lockouts, why not put a lockout on each gate and simply lock out the ones that would result in an over-rev based on your current speed? Seems like that'd be an easy thing to do! I realize there could be times when you want to pre-shift into a gear while slowing so you'll be ready to release the clutch at the lower speed, but it could at least be an option.
