With newer cars, The oil Tech. and tighter Tolerance's in the engine and the fact that ALL GM pushrod engines now have roller valve lifters. Engine breakin is mostly limited to the piston rings. ALL other parts (pistons,Bearings, Gears, pumps] all run on a cushion of oil. Rings seal within 10 miles. Nuff on the engine. In My opinion the components that requires a careful breakin is the A-8 Transmission and the rear Diff. and the Brakes. Some may not agree and that's OK!!! Everyone will do as they want to, and Hopefully Enjoy EVERY MILE!!!!!!!!!!
