I'm coming from a V6 challenger with supercharger and lots of mods, engine, exhaust, rear, suspension, rims tires et all, neat car. Mine was the lightest Challenger made at 3720 lbs. I've driven many Challengers upto but not including the Hellcat.

I test drove a V6 16 Camaro and I new this would be the car for me. I like the lightness, size etc. I figure I wait for the I4 since I like being the underdog and don't "drag race". I like handling and do lots of autoX with some serious cars: Type R, Civic SI, setup specifically for autoX.

Anyway the Oldlady, got tired of me always tooling around in the garage and a white 2016 SS just showed up. I'm very happy with the balance of the car, there is no Challenger that can match the SS in street manners, no matter the suspension of tires mod vs stock SS. The SS is so much more tossable, so much more controlled, I felt confident in the chassis for the first second I stepped into the car.

I find driving in track mode but with traction control ON!!! Gives me the best performance and street handling but keeps the shiny side up so to speak.

I've driven and owned many performance / handling cars starting with a 69 z/28 Camaros.

I'll add one more note, the chassis is so well behaved with traction control on, I think my teenage kids can drive it no problem. The daughter drivers a little fast but she is not a drag racer by any means, the son is an autoXer and not really big on straight line acceleration. He wants to keep the built Type R, it has a new 2.1 liter all bore sleeved engine at 270 HP @ 9200 rpm and weighs in at 2300 lbs. I think the Camaro will be more fun but I'm kind of worried about the SS going through MORE than a set of autoX tires in a season!!!!
