Went into a dealership a month ago & one salesman asked for my tel # & said "I'm going to text you today so you have my number, then I'll let you know when the 2016's get in".
Well, after not getting any text, I went in a week later & talked to a different salesman. He called me 3 times updating me as to how close they were to receiving their first 2016's. Then he called me the night the truck came in & asked me to come in at 9:00 the next morning. When I got there, the FIRST salesman said to me "did you get my text?" and I said "No", & walked with the other salesman to the 2016's. As he went back inside to get the keys, the First salesman actually called my phone trying to sound like he had great news". I told him "You know I've already got someone helping me out here so leave me alone".
The 2d salesman went with me on a test drive. He knew EVERYTHING about every control in the car, and what was on the 2 different models they had. he also knew a lot about the C7 & the comparable Mustangs & gave me a wide range of purchasing opinions. he said "I've been waiting to get one of these on the road - thanks for coming in & I'll do what I can for a deal for you".
The following week I brought my wife back to see it. She told him she was interested in a 2016 Subaru Outback. Right away, he took her to the Chevy Equinox area & began to explain the differences between the Equinox & the Outback. this guy is in his early 20's & was very knowledgeable not only about the cars at his dealership, but also about other brand's equivalent vehicles.
Once the verts come in, it's very likely that he's getting my money - it depends on the discounts available & whether or not I get a better deal from a certain dealer in Michigan......
