As for those people who say you can get x amount of power from tuning it. most people are not tuning. they are buying the 4 cylinder because they just want camaro, and they dont care what engine. my sister was just car shopping this summer test drove a 4 cylinder mustang and v6 jeep grand cherokee. she went with the jeep.
on to another point. my biggest problem with the 4 cylinder is the sound. you are buying a car that is perceived to the general public has a modern muscle car. i am not saying 4 cylinders sound bad, or 6 cylinders for that matter. a 4 cylinder turbo doesn't belong in a camaro, no matter how much power it has.
with all that said. the new 4 cylinders cars will be without a doubt successful. because most people buying a camaro are more into the novelty of owning a camaro for what it is, rather than what it can do.
