While I think it's good they are doing any type of advertising, I don't think these billboards will work. GM needs to be focusing on the "Now" products instead of the "Then" products.
There is nothing wrong with nostalgia but none of those billboards alert new buyers of new products. A lot of the people with real buying power right now weren't around when most of those cars were in their Hay Day. Seems like some Volt billboards or other new cars would be better choices.
