My 2010 LLT was similar...nearly all bolt ons (except headers...wanted them but I had that feeling that the car would be sold eventually, so I never took the time to put them on figuring I'd have to pull them off when I sold the car) and tuned. Also lots of changes to the look of the car.
The combination of my car being an ABM (just that alone made it more unique) and modified got it a fair amount of attention at shows. I think it also surprised some folks when they read my description and learned the little V6 was pushing in excess of 330+ HP....but the fact remains that since it was a V6...to many it just wasn't as cool.
But I would have never traded that car for just any SS. Not that I live in an area with a lot of modded Camaros, but I think my car looked better than most of the other 5th gens around here....it was lowered with wider rims...nice and aggressive and looked sweet.
