I think for a lot of people its more ego than practical use. I'd much rather spend my money on a decked out fully loaded RS then drive around a striped down modle with a big engine that I'll never be able to fully use. Everyone has their own preferences tho, as you can tell by all the many different orders, I dont think I've seen one order match anyone else's, we all have our priorities.

I feel the same way as you do, hence my choice.
I really wanted the Red Hot exterior with a Red Leather interior, so a 1SS would never have done me. The HUD is a must for me which I don't believe is an option on the 1SS, and ultimately I prefer the look of the RS vs the SS, especially when it comes to the spoiler.
I'm not the sort of guy who wants to mod his car with a new spoiler or anything either so if it isn't what I want from the get go I usually wont buy it!
In a few years I'm expecting to be able to export it to the UK where Camaros can bring a premium (For example a 2010 Camaro V6 is being offered for $30k, and that's for a base model I believe with 30k miles on it), so even taking into account shipping etc I'd lose less money then I would do selling in the states (if I decided to sell it over in the UK).
All in all we're all getting the cars we want and we can all be proud that they are Gen6 Camaros!
