The scat pack is probably the nicer car to be honest, and the Challenger is the last true muscle car in some senses. Overall, it's the better deal. The 6th gen Camaro has the "new" factor, but you pay for it.
It sucks that they weren't willing to give you a discount, but maybe rushing into selling the old car and jumping for a 2016 so early into production was not a great idea. There could be other factors that I'm not aware of, such as a small window to sell the old car at a higher price point or a lease that was about to end. I'm sure you didn't decide to ride a bike in the interim just for leisure and exercise.
I also might sound rude, so sorry in advance, but I am really confused when people post on these forums complaining that they just finished payments on their 5th gen and are having financing issues getting behind the wheel of a 6th. If it's that much of a struggle, why are you spending your money on a sports car? Not to judge, but it just doesn't sound like it makes much financial sense. The 5th gen is still an amazing car by all accounts, and if it's been paid off, keep it. Why force yourself to buy something you can't afford and then get hit with a high depreciation rate in the first year? Why not at least wait until 2017 to trade in the 5th gen for a used 6th gen?
