I more or less agree with this statement.
Looks are subjective, I get that. If we assume for a second that you don't care either way for looks, the current GT is probably superior to the current SS - simply because the new 6th Gen Mustang is fully updated and the current SS is dated. The interior and ride quality of the GT are probably superior, and the performance is negligible between them both. The Mustang is just more updated right this second.
I would suggest holding out 6 months and waiting for the 6th Gen, which handily trounces the Mustang in terms of performance, and you'll see major interior upgrades.
The biggest downside of the Mustang is that POS Getrag transmission. The TR6060 is so much better. Some people complain about the TR6060's feel...it certainly has its own personality and can be a notchbox in the winter until it's warmed up...but it is so much stronger. I don't like the term "bulletproof," but it is much, much stronger than the Getrag. Swapping to Redline D4 fluid has helped its smoothness in the cold a lot.
