You do realize that about 70% of all 5th Gen sales were V6 models (LLT and LFX). That means 30% of V8 sales were spread across 4 different engines (L99, LS3, LSA and LS7). My guess, is yes even if there wasn't a V8 there would still be a big following on Camaro forums. That being said, there should be no worries about losing the V8 as an option anytime soon.
