We do know that - there are diminishing returns
This is a joint venture between GM and Ford, so if the 10 speed is actually better than the 8l90 Chevy can use it too.
The "just wait until the 10 speed" comment is very desperate sounding. It will not put the GTPP on par with a 2ss. It is still heavier and less powerful. Perhaps it will shift faster than the current Mustang 6 speed, but it will also need to shift more often. 8 is a lot of gears, border line too many. 10 is not necessarily better.
