Flat plane crank doesn't make sense in an OHV engine. The valve train won't be stable enough to take advantage of the rev capability.
Edit: This could be a Cadillac specific engine and move to a DOHC engine.
GM has already said a DTC system that could handle the torque of the LT4 would be too heavy. They already have the 8 speed auto and have been working on 9 and 10 speeds with Ford.
