I've been wondering about this myself. I noted in my 2013 1LE that there was a tire well, but it only had room for an 18" rim which wouldn't fit over the SS brakes. I always bought new tires separately, and took them to my favorite installer. I could just barely squeeze the 285/35-20 into the trunk just to transport it to the installer (and another in the back seat.) With the downsizing of the 6th GEN, it got me thinking that I probably won't be able to transport a loose tire in the trunk anymore. The announcement of runflats made me think that perhaps there isn't even a tire/compressor well below the trunk floor mat.
Has anyone looked in a 6th GEN trunk to see if there's a stowage compartment? If they don't provide an inflator anymore, one of my first purchases will be a small compressor...
Also on my 1LE, I bought an old set of RS 20" wheels and install an omni-directional tire the same diameter as the stock 285s on it. I only placed this tire in the trunk for long trips, so that I wouldn't be stranded somewhere with a catastrophic tire failure. I found that if I deflated that tire, I could stuff into the 5th GEN tire well so that my luggage fit in on top. I bet this idea is out with the 6th GEN.
I just wanted to see what y'all think. I worry about such things...
