does it count that i bought the vette at 24? shoot... i'm almost 30 now - has it really been that long?!
anyway, i used to get comments all the time (mostly from old farts) about how i either made too much money or was too young to own/drive/handle a car like this. little did they know that i saved 15yrs for it, learned to drive when i was 11, and every vehicle was fairly large with a V8 (not some tiny, underpowered eco-box) until the end of high school. i got into HPDE and *not*street racing with some friends in college, then finally bought my own dream car a couple years out of school.
i reckon now i look old enough... or the car just looks old enough (2 body styles from new, now) that folks don't give me grief any more.
