This same engine is already in the ATS, which is also an Alpha chassis vehicle, & also the new Malibu, & Buick Regal / Verona, so there really shouldn't be anything different.
Maybe they were at a capacity level, & probably needed to double the output,
as the 2016 Camaro 2.0T is going to sell like 'hotcakes'...
