My opinion....I can't see GM producing a hi-po LT1 variant making 500+ HP solely for the Camaro. It would have to go in other vehicles as well...otherwise the cost is going to be huge.
So that's why I think this car is likely the next Z/28, with an LT4 engine. Z/28 will soak up the ZL1, just like Z06 has soaked up ZR1.

I don't see how a modified LT1 in the Z/28 would be any more expensive than the 5.2 Voodoo. It should be substantially cheaper. They would only need new heads, cam, intake and maybe exhaust. The 5.2 Voodoo is an entirely new engine and yet the GT350 still starts in the $50s.
