You guys act as if every truck GM is producing costs over $50k. You can still get a pretty damn well equipped truck in the $30k range. The fact of the matter is the market has changed, and trucks are no longer seen as just work vehicles. High Country and Denali sales make up a huge chunk of K2XX volume. It is what it is.

I agree, with the fact that rich guys have decided that trucks are the new BMW and this has allowed manufacturers to add some goodies and then charge a premium for them. It has also caused the based trucks to cost too much. I'm not blaming the manufacturers at all. If there are people that will pay the asking price then why not sell them. I still think it's crazy ,and I have the money to purchase these unito. I also know that trucks are where the manufacturers make the most profit per vehicle. If wages keep being suppressed, I think trucks will only be reserved for the rich or manufacturers will have to rethink their high margins on them. I think this is why the small trucks are making a comeback. The sad thing is they aren't cheap either.
