Though the new car is said to be more than 200 pounds lighter, that's a blanket number that applies to the entire Camaro range. The V6 model is actually about 300 pounds lighter, and that difference is apparent in our back-to-back drives. After all, the 335-horsepower six-cylinder has only 12 more ponies than last year's V6, but it feels much stronger and more capable.

If true...that is freaking amazing in my opinion. Even if its just 250 pounds, that could still put the V6 under 3,500 pounds. LOVE IT.
Here is something to think about
: 250 pounds off the base V6 5th gen (3,719 lbs) puts you at 3,469 lbs. Shouldn't be too difficult to get 350 HP out of the 335HP stock LGX with a few bolt ons or a tune.
So...compared to the current L99 SS:
3,910 lbs / 400HP = 9.775 lbs per HP
3,469 lbs / 350P = 9.9 lbs per HP.
I like those stats.
