Where are you seeing twin turbo'd gen 5's with 12.7+ times? A full stock v6 camaro with a twin turbo runs low 12's. With 6th gen it will probably be in the high 11's.
I said *MOST* of the turbo/sc cars... With the exception of a VERY small handful (3, and the fastest one has poured tons of money into the car), the majority that post their times are high 12's low 13's. See for yourself...

You're absolutely right though, a 6th gen v6 (which you have to may more for, appx $2200 according to what you said about the ATS), with a turbo or super charger will will PROBABLY be faster than a pumped up 2.0T... But you're going to spend 8 to 9k (including paying the additional premium, plug a sc/turbo kit)... A "respectable" 2.0t will spend appx 3k, and have a high 12 second car... That's cool.

It's all a money game... Most people won't bother to put a supercharger or turbo kit on their v6, only a handful... You can go back and forth until the end of time trying to make the 4cyl faster than the 6cyl, while the 6 cyl guy tries to make his car faster than the 8cyl...

I'm saying, I would personally be pretty happy spending 3k on the 4 cyl to run mid to high 12s, rather than 8-9k on a v6. This would be MY personal preference over the v6.
