Don't get me wrong, I like the 6th Gen, I just think this weight stuff is being overplayed. I'm actually getting sick of hearing about it. 200lbs is not a huge loss.
I stated this in another thread... my thoughts

another way to look at it is.... get your base weight for the new SS... so lets say 200lbs - 3860lbs (crub weight of the current SS) gets you 3660... cars 3000-4000lbs will roughly see 10hp per 100lbs. soo 455hp+20= 475hp... so basically you should have time similar to a current SS running 475hp (at the motor) with this theory. so all in all you're seeing a increase form 426hp to 475hp ... so 39hp increase over the previous gen.

With that said, bolt ons will go further on this platform as well. BUT to put this in perspective... the Camaro is still no a "light weight" by modern standards.. its about 100lbs heavier then the current m3/m4 and is real close to the weight of 2012 boss 302 which is 4 years old at this point (and I bet the new SS will run close to the identical times due to the similar specs as the old boss).

DISCLAIMER: I am not knocking the 6th gen... I am not talking bad about it.
