I suspect that the spread will be more than the Gen 5. GM will have to hold the base price for no other reason than Ford did with the Mustang. But I believe that $37,000 2SS will likely hit $40 for the Gen 6.
Look at what happened with the Tahoe/Suburban. Lower tier pricing only went up slightly but LTZ variants are over $65,000 which used to be Escalade territory. But the Escalade went further up market as well.
So it will have to remain affordable, but my guess is the base car will hold price but with a 2.0T and if you want a V6 you'll pay a few thousand more.
But I also believe that overall this will be a significantly and noticeably superior car to the Gen 6.
A lot will depend on how the car is contented.
Also anyone think we'll see this new "Premium" trim level announced for the Malibu?
