It will be interesting to see what GM has in store for the higher hp models. I don't think they will engage in the hp wars to compete with the Hellcat or rumored upcoming new GT500 with 700hp plus. That would seem to eliminate a new ZL1 and favor the "balanced" approach they take with an emphasis on handling.
However, I recently found this on another forum. Take it for what it's worth (internet hearsay); but it does make you wonder what they really have up their sleeve.

Official curb weight has yet to be determined, too many details to be ironed out. I expect the ZL1 to come in around 3850-3900 lbs.
