Just reinforces the fact that Chicago gets lamer and lamer every year.

Chicago is billed as being a truck show & the biggest autoshow in America. Since it doesn't have the prestige of Detroit (err ... 'North American International'

), LA, or NY I bet floor space (and media events) cost less than its more coveted counterparts. As such, when trying to maximize profit for minimal investment, Chicago is a good place to go for a truck thing. No matter how mundane it is.
Actually, as I think of it ... ChiTown (as relatively few call it) might be better for the more mundane stuff, because anything of actual importance will be show at one of the other 3 big US autoshows -thereby granting otherwise mediocre showings some decent press, since there often isn't anything better to talk about.
Think of it like this: it got you, a General Motors Insidenews moderator to mention a Silverado Special edition on a Camaro forum ... just because you felt it was somewhat noteworthy
Free publicity provides maximum profit for minimum investment. You are but a cog in the machine, whether you want to be or not
